It has been a long time and I hope it gives you an insight into what dad did and was like. What it was like to grow up in the depression world and during WW II and after. This is a rundown of most of my life. If you want print it up. It’s not very extraordinary. Just an average guy going through life and not making any big splash. This started as a short summary of my World War II travels and has almost become a book. Maybe you are interested, maybe not but if I think of other things or you think of something to ask me I’ll write more. I am not the best writer in the world but hopefully you will be able to decode and if you get stuck send it back and I’ll try to decode it for you.
I have touched on everything I can think of that happened in the last seventy-four years. Some good some bad but it has been an interesting time and I know that the next seventy-five years will see a lot more things happen than I can visualize. The first twenty-five years was pretty slow, and now the pace has quickened. The second twenty-five years was faster and now things happen so fast it’s hard to keep up. When I was in the sixth grade they demonstrated TV in school, very crude, now we get pictures from around the world as the news happens. We went from horse and buggies to space ships in this time and put a man on the moon twenty-five years ago. That reminds me on TV they say for years people though that the moon was made of cheese. When they landed they found that it was made of rock and no one has gone back since. I have one boy who works on airplanes so big that the Ford Tri-Motor plane I rode in can hide under a B-52’s wing. One is a schoolteacher, one prints designs on clothes. One sells plastic and one makes electronic games. All of this evolved since I was a little boy and most has occurred in the last twenty-five years. Such a leap from the time my grandparents came to this country. I love you and all my kids and are proud of you all. I just hope that I did a passable job of being a dad.
